Top tips for buying a new digital camera
Buying a Digital Camera today is not an easy choice. There are so many different models/types to choose from. I have 10 tips here to help you make a decision towards you next camera purchase.
- Dont buy in to the Mega Pixel jargon/hype - you can get amazing results from a 4 mega pixel camera.
- What do you need it for? If its just general family photos/holiday snaps etc £200 to £250 should be plenty
- Stick with a good brand. Nikon, Cannon, Sony - you get what you pay for if you plan to have it for a few years.
- Will you lose or break it if chances are high dont spend mega £££!
- Read up on some makes and reviews online before you go out and buy.
- Beware buying from individuals
online/eBay etc although 99% will be ok you dont know whats happened to that camera (dropped, history etc). Cameras are so cheap now its nearly as cheap to get a brand new one with some comeback.
- Taking a decent photo is 99% about the photographer not the camera!
- Dont buy the first camera or accept the first price you see - barter with the shop they want the sale - get them to chuck in a free memory stick or case etc.
- Dont buy in to the Mega Pixel jargon/hype!
- The sales staff in
most cases are not digital camera experts, they may only know a little more than you so take things with a pinch of salt.
I hope these tips will be of some use to you. Remember when buying camera equipment online from someone you dont know - if it sounds too good to be true it probably is! Ask questions fin dout the cameras use, where was it bought, has it been used much. If its more than 3 years old then it should be at least 50% cheaper (unless its top of the range Nikon SLR etc). Digital camera technology moves fast like computers, things go out of date quickly.
